                                  How to better sort waste

Garbage is mainly divided into four categories: recyclables, kitchen waste, hazardous waste and other garbage.

Recyclables: including five categories of waste paper, plastic, glass, metal and cloth. It should be noted that paper towels and toilet paper are not recyclable due to their strong water solubility.

Food waste: Also known as wet waste in Shanghai, it includes food waste such as leftovers, bones, root vegetables, and peels.

Hazardous waste: refers to wastes containing heavy metals that are harmful to human health, toxic substances, or harmful to the environment.

Hazardous waste includes batteries, bulbs, mercury thermometers, paint buckets, expired medicines, expired cosmetics, etc. These wastes are generally recycled or landfilled separately.

Other garbage: It refers to bricks, ceramics, muck, toilet paper, paper towels and other difficult-to-recycle wastes other than the above. Fruit shells, dust, food bags (boxes), sanitary landfill can effectively reduce Water, soil and air pollution.
